PME is certified with all relevant legal entities and an integral part of the network of industry associations here in Australia and overseas. Bill Georgas is an engineering signatory with the RTA and oversees every job that comes through the doors of our workshop in Hornsby.
Quality, integrity and really nice people
We have been operating at the forefront of this industry for two decades and have a very long list of happy OTs to show for it. We supply vehicles to rehabilitation centres including Port Kembla Hospital, Calvary Rehabilitation (CRAGS), Coorabel Royal Rehabilitation, St Joseph’s Driver Rehabilitation, Lady Davidson Hospital, David Berry Hospital, Mid-Western Brain Injury and St Vincent’s Hospital, and are one of the most recommended vehicle modifiers for disabilities in Australia.
This is all to say that, here at PME, we are incredibly good at what we do. We even export our own, class leading, products around the globe. Behind all this trumpet blowing, however, is a group of very approachable, friendly, dedicated people. This is the thing that makes us a favourite with OTs. We try to make every step of the project as easy, and enjoyable, as possible.
Real people, real challenges
OT Tom Eley working with PMEThere is a large human component in the work that we do. We simply couldn’t perform at the level that we do if didn’t stop to smell the roses, have a laugh or pick up a client from the train station.
Every vehicle conversion has a huge impact on the lives of our clients, and we need to engage quite intensely with each person to guarantee an excellent result. Humour, generosity and empathy are just some of the characteristics that make this possible, and these are qualities that we are known for.
Occupational Therapists, of all people, understand the importance of respectful, creative dialogue. It is your relationship with your client, and your clinical and personal assessments that form the foundation for our work. We benefit greatly from a good OT.
Assessments
Your assessment, of your client’s capabilities and needs, is where we start. The next step is an interview with you and your client to examine the options and make some decisions on which direction to head in.
We have a number of demonstration vehicles and facilities that help us establish things like mobility, strength, reach etc. Our depth of experience allows us to quickly establish the best options, and to design tests which will allow a final decision to be made with great confidence. We coordinate with you throughout this process to make sure we are all on the same song-sheet.
The job may be as simple as fitting a Spinmaster Spinner Knob to an existing car, or something as complex as a new vehicle with wheelchair access and electronic mobility controls like the Space Drive. No matter what the job, every one of our clients has unique needs, so the assessment is something we take very seriously.
Reporting
A strategy is drawn up based on the assessment stage. This forms a road map, with milestones that can be measured and monitored. We make a point of keeping both you and your client in the loop.
Real, deep and abiding love
Good vehicle conversions are not easy to find. So when you’ve had the PME experience, you will know what it is to truly love a vehicle modification company. We make the whole experience so much easier, our expertise inspires so much confidence and your client ends up so happy… we’re starting to blush now.
We are an OT’s best friend when it comes to getting your clients on the road. OTs, likewise, are our best friends, helping us deliver great results. If you’re interested in a new best friend, give us a call. You know you want to.
