We will design and fit anything from a simple transfer board (PME Easyslider) to rotating car seats and a range of wheelchair and scooter storage solutions. Most of our work involves passenger vehicles but we are not limited to these. We’ve engineered sophisticated transfer solutions for heavy duty working vehicles. One of our clients needed access to a large tractor, obviously a difficult task, not least because of the harsh treatment these machines get. Another client needed to get back into his Grader for his living. He ended up at PME because we’ll go where others won’t, and he was soon back at work.

Wheels onboard: Wheelchair and scooter passengers

There are many options for getting wheelchairs and scooters into vehicles (mostly larger cars or vans), and restraining them. There’s even the option of dockable wheelchairs, which allows the seat of the wheelchair to become the seat of the vehicle.

Transfer and storage

For cars that won’t accommodate a wheelchair or scooter, there are a variety of transfer and storage options. In most cases, the client transfers from the wheelchair to the vehicle seat and the chair is stored by sophisticated mechanical lifts.

• Storage: Roof mounted, boot mounted and boot hoist

Converted vehicles

PME will also supply a range of vehicles that have been modified to suit the general needs of wheelchair passengers. Individual needs are then catered for and the client is ready to roll.
