To suit the requirements of drivers with limited upper body strength and strong lower limb control, this fully mechanical solution allows the driver to steer with their left leg using a rotating footplate. The accelerator and brake are operated with their right leg using the original pedals. The driver does not need to use their arms to maneuver the vehicle.
Natural and Simple to Use
With practice, tight manoeuvres such as three point turns are simple thanks to clever mechanical design and modifications to lighten the power steering.
The steering wheel remains operational to allow for able-bodied users, to retain safety features and to help maintain the ‘factory-finish’ look. The footplate has a cover to be used when the vehicle is being driven conventionally.
For acess to commonly used secondary functions such as indicators, horn, high-beam, wipers etc. PME have a variety of solutions available to suit your ability. We even have modifications available for easy access to your gear shifter and handbrake.
In addition to the foot steering modification PME also offer expert assessment and professional driver training for this driving control.
