Lachlan Foote was born with a disability called Arthrogryposis which has limited the length and mobility of his arms. He recently passed his driving test and is now enjoying the freedom of driving his own Toyota Camry modified by PME Auto Conversions to have Foot Steering, Electric Park-brake and custom Accessories controls.
Lachlan hopes to compete as a Paralympian at the 2020 Tokyo Games and uses the vehicle to drive himself to training. He competes as a T45 Amputee and is the Australian record holder in the 100m, 200m and 400m sprint and long jump for several age categories. You can view the current record holders at the Athletics Australia website, here.
Lachlan's vehicle modifications were supported by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). If you'd like to learn how the NDIS could fund the modification of your vehicle, the NDIS section on our website is a good place to start.
